Like many families, I have spent a lot of time with my kids lately.
I’m acutely aware of this precious opportunity to bond and make memories. At 12 and almost 14, they are not too keen to be in our company for very long. But joint walks and meal preparation have become activities we share.
My 14-year old daughter does not have much of an interest in kitchen related things, except for baking. So, when our Tuscan staff Tracy announced a Tiramisu and Gnudi (spinach ricotta dumplings) class as part of UnTours’ Virtual Experiences, I was thrilled. I baited her with the tiramisu.
Tracy broadcasts live cooking classes from her kitchen in Tuscany. She is great company, as warm and fun as she is helpful. Prepared with our pre measured ingredients we were easily able to follow her detailed instructions during the Zoom cooking class.
The whole process took a little over an hour, and we had a 5-star Italian lunch & dessert to show for it. My daughter enjoyed the gnudi making experience more than she had anticipated. This could be the beginning of an interest in cooking. You never know!
I’d highly recommend trying one of Tracy’s classes with a spouse, room mate, kid or grandkid. You don’t even need to be in the same household together to join each other for cooking!
Additional dishes and classes are being added regularly with many options available. Take a look at her upcoming lesson schedule and make a reservation.
Buon appetito!
