Foundation Fridays: Choir of millions

This December 21st, about 15 million people will join in singing “Ise Oluwa” or “One Song”. This lovely African song is a call to leaders around the world to end violence against the earth.  Organized by the Good Earth Singers, we learned of this project through our friends at Intertribal COUP.

Why do we care about this project here at the UnTours Foundation? Well, there is our UnTours colleague, Ellen Peters, who’s part of the Opera Company of Philadelphia: we love beautiful voices. We believe that the arts are a vital avenue for addressing economic and social issues. More directly, ending poverty is our mission; climate change will effect the poorest among us first. A quality life requires a high quality planet.

Please join in this choir or at least hum along!

“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” Plato
