The Gordon Family in Switzerland

Swiss Untour family travel

The Gordons and Boicourts recently joined us in Meiringen, Switzerland, on our Swiss Heartland Untour. Three generations of their family stayed in one of our favorite towns in central Switzerland and made amazing memories together against the timeless backdrop of Alpine peaks, lush valleys, and clean blue lakes.

It was a trip that will no doubt live on in the memories of the Gordons’ kids and grandchildren (ages 9 and 12). Here the familes share some of their spectacular photography and impressions of their family vacation in the Swiss Heartland.

Boating on Lake Lucerne is a favorite for all visitors to Switzerland, but especially with families. The Swiss Travel Pass we include with our Swiss Untours covers the Swiss boats along with train trips. Kids can travel free with their parents when their parents have the pass!

The view of our yard in Meiringen, and only a ten minute walk to the town. (The Gordons and their family stayed in the Panorma Lower and Panorama Middle apartments, a perfect combination for a multigenerational family group.) Here is our Untours home in Meiringen with a storm brewing.

After a storm, perhaps one of the most spectacular rainbows we have ever seen.

Views in the Rosenlaui area. (The Rosenlaui glacier and its surroundings are impressive to explore, and a treat for all ages.)

Riding the train is such an important part of visiting Switzerland.

Grindelwald. The beauty never quits.

Hiking above Grindelwald. (The well-marked trails of the Swiss countryside make hiking a breeze, and the Untours Hiking and Biking Guide allows guests to find hikes and walks that are just the right level of challenge for them, including lots of easy scenic strolls and kid-appropriate climbs.)

The cleaning lady took a family photo (the lead photo at the top of this post) before we left our Meiringen home for the last time. She also supplied the cart in this photo.

Parting is such sweet sorrow, but family memories like this will last a lifetime! Make some international memories with the people you love on an Untour. Check out our Kids Stay Free program, which covers all Untours destinations for 2020.

Thank you to Jerry Gordon and Ronnie Boicourt for sharing this wonderful stash of photos.

See you (and your family) in the Swiss Heartland!
