Bay View

Luxurious home overlooking Kenmare Bay

Stay in County Kerry

You will feel as though you've arrived at Irish paradise when driving up to the Bay View. This home is situated on a private property with awe-inspiring views of Kenmare Bay, the Ring of Kerry, and Dinish Island. Bay View is only 100 yards away from an outdoor center restaurant/bar and an eight-minute drive from the charming town of Kenmare. Outdoor enthusiasts rejoice as fishing spots, hiking trails, and walking routes are all within a stone's throw.

You enter the home through an elegant tiled foyer and into a sitting room with plush leather sofas, a fireplace, and flat-screen TV (cable). Continuing on the ground floor is the fully equipped kitchen, fit for a Michelin-star chef with all stainless steel appliances including an oven, 4-burner stove, microwave, dishwasher, and double sink. You can eat either at the kitchen island, in the separate dining area with almost floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the gorgeous bay, or outside on the patio. The laundry room is off of the kitchen. There are two bedrooms with king beds upstairs, and one bedroom with two twin beds on the ground floor. All three bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.

Kenmare, Ireland - County Kerry, Home of Bay View

Tucked into the scenic southwest corner of Ireland, Kenmare is a welcoming and convenient home base. The name Kenmare means ‘little nest’ in Gaelic, which perfectly describes the atmosphere of this charming town. The perfect departure point for the Ring of Kerry and Killarney National Park, Kenmare also puts the Beara and Dingle Peninsulas within reach. Home to the19th century Holy Cross Church and one of the most impressive ancient stone circles in the region, Kenmare has a rich history. Nearby Molly Gallivan’s Cottage and Traditional Farm is a 200-year-old cottage that shows how the people of Kenmare lived before modern technology.

Take a cruise in Kenmare Bay or try local horseback riding. Explore the weekly outdoor market or take in live traditional music in a cozy local pub. Kenmare is known for its good eats and great golf courses. Lined with colorful houses and charming shops, Kenmare is a true Irish village with all of the amenities one could need and easy access to the sea.

Here's what our guests have to say

★★★★★

Lovely house with extraordinary views of Kenmare Bay. Easy access to Kenmare and a quiet road. We especially enjoyed the friendly Border Collie "Lucky" from next door and the cows in the pasture around us.

★★★★★

Beautiful home, wonderful views, Well maintained, comfortable beds, Loved having 5 bathrooms. Lovely hostess who was helpful getting us settled in explained how the washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, stove, oven, TV and electrical system worked. (We would suggest that included with the explanation, we were provided with a written explanation of the house information.) We were so excited being there and seeing the house that we didn't really remember all she told us.

★★★★★

Beautiful house and location over Kenmare Bay. The five bathrooms were a welcome perk. Our hostess, Maureen, was very responsive to our needs. We left a suggestion to have written appliance instructions, that were covered in the orientation, but some we forgot in our jet lag.

Bay View was unbelievably wonderful. Quite new with all the amenities anyone could ask for. Living room, huge eat-in kitchen and a wonderful dining room with 270 degree windows. Outdoor patio so you can eat out, if you want to. Three bedrooms and five full baths so would be suitable for a family group or friendly couples traveling together. The WiFi worked well. No US news channel on any of the five TV's, though. Fantastic views over Kenmare Bay or, as they call it, Kenmare River. The trip to and from town was really no problem and any inconvenience was more than offset by the fabulous house and the really great views. Maureen, the host, lives and runs a B&B a little ways up the street. She's a dynamo and very available (gave us her cell phone number) but not at all intrusive. We've stayed in a lot of UnTour apartments - Swiss chalets, Swiss apartments, a Provençal house, an Alsatian apartment. All VERY nice, but Bay View was the best.
