ZIMMERMANN, GUNTEN, SWITZERLAND - OBERLAND
Tucked under the eaves of a wooden chalet, the cozy and charming Zimmerman vacation rental is just right for 2 persons. The third floor apartment features a terrific balcony view of sparkling blue Lake Thun and the majestic high Alps opposite to the south. Basically a studio, the Zimmerman apartment has a small, but complete kitchen, bathroom, and a spacious, comfortable living room with wood paneling and a sleeping section. Two indoor flights of stairs are the private entrance to the apartment. The ceiling clearance is around 7’. Since there are quite a few steps to climb to the apartment, we do not recommend it to persons with hip or knee problems. The friendly landlord lives downstairs.
Although a 15-minute walk from the quaint lakeside village of Gunten, its lake ship dock, stores and restaurants, the Zimmerman chalet is only 5 minutes from the bus stop that provides connecting service to Gunten and the cities of Thun and Interlaken about every 20 minutes throughout the day. Gunten and neighboring Oberhofen offer some shopping and restaurants, but major groceries, restaurants, department stores and banks are located in nearby Thun.
