The Christmas Lower vacation rental is in the same building as St. Goar’s Christmas Shop (Weihnachtsmarkt) and just across from the KD boats and ferry dock on the Rhine River.
This beautiful, second-floor apartment is modern, airy and furnished in light wood. It features one bedroom with a double bed, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a comfortable living room with a pullout sofa (for 1 adult or 2 children) and a television. The bathroom has a shower. The apartment has a telephone and a coin operated washing machine.
It is a level 5-minute walk from the Christmas Lower apartment to the rail station, post office and local shops and restaurants. Although there is no Rhine view from the apartment, the KD boats and ferry dock are virtually at your doorstep, just across from the building.
St. Goar is a lively, charming town renowned for its wine, shopping and castle. It is the site of Burg Rheinfels, the largest castle ruin on the Rhine. A 15- to 20-minute walk up to the castle results in wonderful views of the vineyards and river below, as well as access to several hiking trails. If you are not up for a hike, you can easily buy a 1-way or round-trip ticket to board a trackless train that travels through the town and up to the castle. The village of St. Goar offers a small grocery store, a nice variety of restaurants, cafés, bakeries, a tourist information office, post office, banks with ATMs, wine cellars and many shops. The village provides good train connections both near and far, and the KD boats regularly stop for travel up and down the Rhine to various villages.
