| All of us met for dinner that night at an outdoor restaurant on Heerstrasse and enjoyed it immensely. About ten o'clock Marilyn and I walked along the Rhine where we encountered a magnificent sunset. What a fitting finale to a very enjoyable trip! |

Our daughter, Kim, and husband, Pete, left on an early train to Wurzburg, and then on to Rothenberg. Our friends from England, Sid and Geraldine, left in mid-afternoon, going to the Frankfurt airport for their short flight to Bristol. We had a quiet dinner, packed, and went to bed early. On the 16th we took the 8:20 a.m. train to Frankfurt Airport. Marilyn wandered through airport shops and returned to me laden with chocolate gifts for home. We changed planes in Munich for our non-stop journey to San Francisco. After the usual scramble we settled back in our seats and relaxed for a pleasant flight home. It had been a wonderful German vacation, and our adventures in Berlin and on the Rhine exceeded our expectations. Happy Travels! |
