This canal-front apartment offers breathtaking views of Venice and the Giudecca Canal. Located on La Giudecca Island, just a short boat crossing to the city's main sights, this apartment puts you in the heart of a real Venetian neighborhood.

Entry to the apartment is at street level, where you will find laundry facilities. A flight of steps takes you up to the large, airy living room with windows overlooking Venice and the Giudecca Canal. The living room is attractive and comfortably furnished, with beamed ceilings and parquet floors. There is also a dining area and a separate kitchen with a dishwasher. The bedroom has a queen bed and an en suite bathroom with shower. There is also a full bathroom with shower off of the common space. The apartment is air conditioned. AC in bedroom and living room.

The apartment is close to good local shopping and restaurants. Palladio’s famous Redentore Church is a short walk away. Across the Giudecca Canal and a 5-minute walk away is the renowned Accademia museum of art. All of Venice's sights are just a short boat ride away.

La Giudecca is a quiet, residential area of Venice, an island just below Venice proper and a 3-minute boat ride across the water from Venice. Like Venice, La Giudecca is carless and filled with pretty streets and canals. Many of the city’s artists and workers live here because the island offers lower rents. You’ll see few tourists and will experience a local community feeling. There’s good shopping (small produce shops, butcher and wine vendors), dining and a laundromat on the fondamenta that faces Venice. The island is home to Palladio’s grand Redentore Church. Boats cross the narrow Giudecca Canal to Venice every 15 to 20 minutes during the day and early evening. The café-lined Zattere promenade sits just across the canal and is beautiful at sunset. And from there, it’s an easy walk through to the Accademia Museum of Art.

Venice is best known for Piazza San Marco, ringed with spectacular museums and St. Mark’s Basilica. But there’s much to see beyond the lure of San Marco, the art treasures of the Accademia Museum and the grandeur of the Grand Canal. The city offers endless museums and historic churches to explore, lovely architecture, artistic masterpieces and hidden beauty around every corner. There’s fascinating people-watching and lively neighborhood life that a 2-week stay will allow you to enjoy. The nearby Lido offers grand beaches, and the lagoon islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello offer fascinating diversions.

Outside Venice, easy day trips by rail include Padua, Vicenza, Treviso, Verona and Bologna.
