KUCHL, AUSTRIA - SALZBURG

Kuchl is a lovely flat village surrounded by the Tennengebirge Mountains and only 30 minutes from Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace. The picturesque village center, just a short walk from your apartment, is packed with charming restaurants, markets, bakeries, florist and stores stocked with traditional Austrian handcrafted items. The train station is only a 10-minute walk from all our apartments. From Kuchl you can access the frequent train service to Salzburg to easily connect to farther trips to Munich, Vienna or Graz, or shorter journeys to such places as Hellbrunn, the world-famous aquatic garden and summer palace. The delightful Salzach Valley offers a host of activities, including swimming in the local lake or Kuchl's indoor pool, tennis and biking the many cycling paths.

Kuchl is terrific for hiking, mountain climbing and hanggliding. From Kuchl you can visit the nearby salt mines in Hallein and take an exciting journey into the earth. Werfen features the world’s largest ice caves where you can enjoy a strenuous hike, and nearby Grossglockner offers breathtaking views from the highest peak in the Austrian Alps. Longer day trips can be made to Innsbruck or Kitzbühel. You can easily walk from Kuchl to the next town of Golling on a well-maintained path while enjoying fields of wildflowers and towering mountains.
