Fifteenth Arrondissement, France - Paris, Home of Eiffel Tower Bellevue
Located just next to Paris’s most visible landmark, the Eiffel Tower, the Fifteenth Arrondissement gives visitors the best of both worlds. All of Paris is at its doorstep while it offers the ability to settle into a typical Parisian neighborhood. The quarter is largely residential and therefore caters to the everyday needs of Parisians. Bakeries, specialty shops like delicatessens and cheese shops, and intimate restaurants abound. This area also features some lovely parks, including the modern Parc André Citroën, with a lovely wildflower meadow and a sculpture garden, and the Champ de Mars, a beautiful esplanade that stretches from the École Militaire to the Eiffel Tower. In the southern part of the district, the Montparnasse is the dominant feature. The Tour Montparnasse is Europe’s second-tallest tower and provides an excellent view of Paris. This area also has a large concentration of shops, restaurants and cinemas, many of which show films in English.
Outside the Fifteenth Arrondissement, the rest of the city awaits. Whether it is a leisurely walk along the Seine, a visit to one of the countless museums, or an unforgettable meal in a cozy neighborhood restaurant, you’ll never run out of things to do in this marvelous city. Even lingering over café crèmes in a sidewalk café can be a daylong activity. Everything is conveniently located, just a short walk from a Metro station, one of the safest and most efficient subway systems in the world.
If your plans include travel to areas outside Paris, the RER (regional train) can transport you quickly and economically. Day trips to the Versailles Palace, Disneyland Paris, Monet’s home in Giverny, and the Chartres cathedral are easily accomplished and well worth the trip.
