Dear Andrea,
It’s party season! In the coming weeks, most of us will find ourselves chit chatting with friends, family, and acquaintances at various social gatherings.
Anyone of a certain age and upbringing can make small talk and exchange pleasantries in a crowd. But don’t you crave real discussion? Do you seek out interesting souls and like minds for a more meaningful conversation?
As we steer away from politics and other unpleasantries, we can still connect on hobbies and interests we share. There are plenty of safe topics that are far more interesting than the weather.
Travel comes to mind, naturally. Be ready to talk about where you’ve been and where you are going. It’s a great time to compare notes with other travelers, to share ideas and recommendations, and to get inspired. After all, the most interesting people at the party are probably the travelers.
Who are you talking to? And what do you have to contribute to the conversation?
Cheers!
