VLASSKA, MALA STRANA, CZECHIA - PRAGUE
The Vlasska vacation rental is in a historic house in the Mala Strana (Lesser Quarter) district of Prague, just west of the Vltava river. It is around the corner from Prague’s landmark St. Nicholas Church, below the Castle district, and a short stroll from Charles Bridge. The area is filled with wonderful restaurants and some of Prague’s famed beer halls. It is only steps away from most major sights.
The apartment offers all the amenities of home in a very safe area of the Czech capital. It sits on a corner approximately halfway between the German and U.S. embassies. The word "Vlašský" means Italian in old Czech; the street name and area style originated when the imperial Habsburg court moved from Vienna. Many Italian artisans settled during the reign of Emperor Rudolf II in this part of the Mala Strana district, imprinting their style on the Czech Renaissance.
The owner has traced the history of the building back to the 14th century. The facade was rebuilt in the classical style in 1824-26, and restored in 2004.
You will plan your adventures not only in style, but in comfort. The apartment has television, wireless internet, a roomy kitchen (perfect for relaxing over a meal), and the vivacious landlady lives in the building and runs the gallery on the ground floor. The second floor vacation rental is comfortably furnished, partly with antique furniture. The ceilings are high, and the walls’ warm colors add to the sunny feeling. The spacious living room, an eat-in kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed with foot board, and a bathroom with shower stall provide a wonderful home base for two travelers. The apartment is most comfortable for 2, however a third person could be accommodated on the sleep sofa in the living room. Best of all, the Vlasska rental features a view of Prague Castle.

"The owner/hostess lives on the floor above and she was very friendly, helpful and pleasant. She has restored this registered landmark house to excellent condition and served as a great hostess to us. She greeted us warmly, showed us around the apartment and provided helpful hints and directions to seeing and doing things in Prague as well as the location of a couple of excellent local restaurants.
We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone who wishes to be comfortable, close to things and in a quiet, peaceful and safe area. Of course being across the street from the German Embassy and just a long block up the street from the US and Irish Embassies certainly added to the ambiance." - Gerald Abegg
"The freedom to set our own agenda, the location of our apartment in the Lesser Town, the walks we could take from our apartment; it was like being in the country in the city." Marilyn Moody
