Good Monday to you! Today is the first in a new series of posts around here we’re calling Monday Memories.

These posts will be very short and sweet: nothing but a fun, memorable travel pic and a brief description of it.

We all have fond memories of our travels and I thought it would be fun to have a place for people to share them.

I’m going first, but I’ve asked the staff to share their memories and, in a moment, I’ll be asking you!

But first, a bit about my photo:

It was the summer of 2001 and I was at the very end of a 5-week backpacking trip through western Europe. My girlfriend and I had already raced through London, Paris, Nice, Florence, Rome, Venice, Vienna, Prague and Berlin.

Now, we were in Amsterdam just for the day before we headed down to south to the Eindhoven area (I believe). In this picture, we had just gotten off the train and were walking around Amsterdam.

Out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw my friend Di (we had just graduated a month earlier) on a bike. I did a doubletake and confirmed it before screaming “Di! Di!” After she almost crashed into a tour group, she rode over to snap this pic with us.

That’s how most of my favorite travel experiences have been: completely random.

So, why not share your travel memory with us? Click the link below to join in the fun!
