Bolli
While you may already know that Switzerland is our largest (and the original!) Untour, you may not know that we have three different regions that we serve: Heartland, Oberland and Ticino. And, in each region we have very different types of apartments. In the Oberland, though, we are in love the Bolli apartment.
The Oberland – more appropriately, Bernese Oberland – provides a glorious backdrop for your stay in Switzerland…so glorious, in fact, that you’ll probably wish you had scheduled a longer stay. You can hike, bike and train your way through the region and see great cities like Bern, Interlaken and Zurich as well as skyscraping Alpine peaks like Jungfraujoch, Schilthorn and Planplatten. Pristine lakes, fascinating museums (like the Verkershaus in Luzern) and towering castles dot the landscape, removing any concerns about what to do next.
Peering over the north shore of the breathtaking Lake Thun, the Bolli is located in the village of Hünibach, just outside the city of Thun. To get to the hustle and bustle of Thun, you can take a quick 7-minute bus ride or take your time with a 30-minute lakeside walk. Just an hour away are the capital city of Bern to the north, and the famous resort town of Interlaken to the east.
Staying in Hünibach, however, gives you access to some fine restaurants, quaint shops and easy transportation via bus, boat or train. Because of Hünibach‘s location along Lake Thun, along with the frequency and efficiency of public transport, most of Switzerland is just a day trip away for you.
Staying at the Bolli offers another great advantage as well – the hosts, Riccy and Vincent. Instead of me trying to explain how great they are, here they are in the words of Untourists…
