Greetings Fellow Travelers,
EXTRA!
EXTRA! At long last, our much-awaited new product, The Right Vacation Rental, opens for
business! We launched our site, www.therightvacationrental.com last
Friday.
So far we are tremendously encouraged by the feedback we have gotten. Here are a few snippets
from our early "testers":
- "Thank you for allowing me to preview your new
site. It's wonderful! Beautifully designed and easy to use."
- "Pure excitement! I have spent several hours now going from place to place ...you have done a fine job..."
- "I am a happy Idyll traveler who just checked out your new website and it is
mesmerizing!!"
This month, we give you a smorgasbord of our new regions: Crete (a Greek Island),
Croatia (the Dalmatian
Coast), Barcelona, London, the Amalfi Coast of Italy, Dordogne, andthe
hot "new" Europe destination of Ljubljana.
For
those of you who haven't yet heard about The RIGHT Vacation Rental,
here's a brief summary of what this new product line is all about.
- Carefully selected vacation rental properties in choice locations throughout Europe.
- Detailed information and photographs of each property.
- The option of asking questions directly of the property host before or after you book.
- No more need to worry
about Idyll's opening hours since the web site is a 24/7 operation and
bookings can be completely handled online.
- Complete flexibility for you to arrange your own ground and air
transportation.
- Mix and match whatever locations you like with only a one week minimum rental
period.

(For those of you who've been
on an Untour, keep in mind that The RIGHT Vacation Rental is
essentially a do-it-yourself product. We don't have anyone here in our
Media office who can talk to you about the properties. We have
English-speaking hosts -- who can answer emails ahead of time and
questions on site -- but no staff like we do with Untours.)
So go browse www.therightvacationrental.com It's a great
place to
start building daydreams...that
just might come true!
Happy Travels,

What we say about it :
Beautiful unspoiled beaches, fertile plains, rolling mountains,
olive groves, wild nature, archaeological treasures, vibrant cities,
charming villages, Crete offers both stunning landscape and a plethora
of
cultural activities.
What others say about it: “Cretans are fiercely proud of their island... when Cretans go to
seemingly extraordinary lengths to make you feel at home it’s because
they genuinely like you and want to impress you with the tradition of
their hospitality rather than because they’re after your
tourist-dollars.” Melissa Jones, Travel Lady Magazine
Our top recommendations for a home-away-from-home here:
-

Croatia:
We have three locations in Croatia – the island of Hvar,
the central region including Trogir, and the incomparable
Dubrovnik. In this month's edition of the Eurozine, we feature
Dubrovnik.
Dubrovnik
What we say about it: The coastal road meanders along the
edge of the brilliant blue sea framed by austere mountains jutting into
the sky and continues past sleepy villages… Thick stone walls of the
city snake around a maze of narrow cobbled streets characterized by
hundreds of steps climbing towards the heavens and lined with houses,
shops, restaurants, cafes and galleries. (Dubrovnik harbor pictured center, below)
What others say about it: “Dubrovnik, …arguably, Europe’s most beautiful city” . NY
Times,
July 17, 2005,
“Dubrovnik’s…skyline alone, one of the world’s most stirring—ranking
with Manhattan, Hong Kong, or Cape Town--has awed for centuries” Budget Travel Online, October 2003
Our top recommendations for a home-away-from-home here:
- House on the Hill: (as
low as
$702 a week) Just outside the
Pile gate, this apartment is in a beautiful, stately stone house
perched on a hill.(apartment pictured far left below)

most historic parts of Dubrovnik, this apartment
features a huge, beautiful shared roof terrace (a rarity in the city)

Slovenia
What we say about it: Ljubljana is a delightful, small city situated around a lovely
river. Jugglers, street musicians and friends rendezvous at outdoor cafés…Smiles, banter and whiffs of food from sidewalk
restaurants swirl through the air.
What others say about it:
“Slovenia…the full bounty of Europe packed
into a succinct swath of mountains, lakes and Adriatic coastline,
topped off by the gorgeous and entirely cosmopolitan capital of
Ljubljana, where
that river and those plazas mingle... the best of Europe without the
worst of Europe” NY Times, August 5 2001
Our top
recommendations for a home-away-from-home here:
-
Amalia: (as
low as $878 a week) A

gentle pulse right outside the door, relax and unwind in this vacation
rental’s spacious living room. …a perfect choice for those wanting a
fresh and immaculate atmosphere in the city center.

Barcelona:
What we say about it:
Shoppers, wanderers and people
watchers will love this city-35,000 independent boutiques-in the city
alone... the old section of town, called the Barri Gotic, is the
largest
automobile-free district of its kind in the center of a major European
city and the city is a dream destination for art-lovers (arguably the
world's
best collections of Gaudi, Picasso and Miro).
What others say about it:
"...described as Spain's second city... Even the
one-time visitor, however, realizes how woefully misguided that
designation is: Barcelona isn't second anything; a proud, dynamic city,
it is the
capital of the rich and diverse region of Catalonia, NY Times, November
24, 2002
Our top recommendations for a home-away-from-home
here:
-
Penthouse in Barcelona: (as
low as $858 a week)
...a spacious, very sunny, 645 square foot flat is on the penthouse floor. (pictured center above)
-

week) an amazing, elegant, period apartment in which traditional
architectural
elements combine with new bathrooms, kitchen and air conditioning.

What we say about it: A narrow road winds along the
promontory from Sorrento to Salerno overlooking terraced vineyards,
lemon
orchards, olive groves and numerous villages that cling precariously to
the sheer rock face... Renowned for its diversity, the Amalfi Coast, a World Cultural Heritage site, is steeped in history
as well as beauty.
What
others say about it: "If we could see infinity, it
would probably look like this," the painter, Corregio, upon seeing the
Bay of Salerno for the first time. "One of the most breathtaking
coastlines in Europe..." The Lonely Planet: Italy
Our top recommendations for a home-away-from-home here:
-
Catharine: (as low as
$972 a week) Enjoy the stunning Amalfi coast from this centrally-located gem.
A large terrace provides a shady haven after a long day of
exploration...
-
Nerano Vino: (as low
as $1,082 a week) Located between
the gem-like towns of Sorrento and Positano, in a small fishing town,
this
18th century villa, close to the sea, immersed in countryside
tranquility and restored with precision and care, houses several
apartments, each
with the modern creature comforts.

London
What we say about it: Grand beyond imagination, London is
also arguably the most youthful, interesting city in the world—chaotic,
fascinating…you may have a hard time convincing the kids to visit all
the legendary sights—since so much fashion, music, and youth culture
emanates from London these days.
What others say about it: “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.” Samuel
Johnson,1777,
“What could possibly be left to say about London? How about the latest
hot neighborhood, the newest in restaurants (try Indian), and the
ever-changing museum and gallery scene?”Dallas Morning News, December 10th, 2005
Our top recommendations for a home-away-from-home here:
St Kat’s Marina
apartments: (as low as $1955 a week)
A location nothing short of perfect--these apartments are built around
a marina, so you are catching glimpses of tranquil water and boating
all during your stay….amazingly, with this tranquil and lovely setting,
you are just across the street from the Tower of London
