Almost like clockwork, a week (or less!) after booking my airfare, I am struck with an overwhelming sense of buyer’s remorse. I don’t grieve because I’m not excited about my trip, but because I find cheaper airfare for my itinerary.
Now, don’t ask me why I was even looking for airfare after already booking mine. It could be that I just happened to “come across” a great deal – but I know I’m just lying to myself there. Most likely, though, it’s this pressing need to know that I was competent enough to find the best possible deal
Has that ever happened to you?
If so, there’s a little website called Yapta that you might be interested in. If not, then please tell me your secret!
Yapta serves two major purposes that help in a big way with this pesky little problem of airfare buyer’s remorse.
- Tracking flight prices – this is fairly straightforward…instead of having to remember to constantly go back to check on your itinerary, this will do the checking for you
- Go to this link
- Type in your departure and arrival locations
- Check out the flights it returns (I forgot to mention that it also allows you to actually book flights, not just track them)
- Select the orange “Track price drops” link on the flight you’d like to track
- Create an account and you’ll start receiving emails when the price of that flight goes down
- Getting airline refunds – if the price of your flight drops below what you paid, many airlines will refund that difference and Yapta helps you get that refund
- Go to this link
- Create an account and you’ll start receiving emails if you’re due a refund
- Go claim your refund
So, as you can see, Yapta is easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
