Angela 2

Charming two bedroom in the beautiful Val D'Orcia

Stay in Tuscany

The Angela 2 apartment is decorated in the typical Tuscan style. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and has terracotta tiles and wooden beamed ceilings throughout. It is simple and charming, and lovingly cared for. Each of its double bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with 2 twins) has its own private bathroom. The main living area combines kitchen and dining facilities with the living room in an open plan. There is sleeping enough for 4 adults, but the sitting area is small, with only one small sofa. There are common sitting areas outside which offer sweeping views of the countryside. There is also a common room on the property for guests' use.

This vacation rental sits on a beautiful farm near Torrenieri, just beyond Buonconvento, an easy drive to Siena and the Chianti Valley beyond. The property affords lovely views of the countryside. Your hosts do not live on the farm but are on site daily to oversee things. (This apartment an be used in conjunction with Angela for a group of up to 8 persons.)

San Giovanni D'Asso, Italy - Tuscany, Home of Angela 2

San Giovanni D'Asso is actually part of the Municipality of Montalcino and is situated in the Crete Senese, that is, the rolling clay hills of Siena. It takes its name from John the Baptist and the Asso River. The centre of San. Giovanni D’Asso is actually a Castle, started in 1100 AD. Its origins are Etruscian and Roman. The Church dates back to the 14th Century. It’s a great place for foodies! Mainly for its location, in between Montalcino and Montepulciano, renowned for their world famous wines made from the San Giovese grape. The Val D’Orcia also produces excellent wines and the City is also known as the “Citta’ del Olio”, due to it’s excellent olive oil. And not only.....every year from the end of October to the beginning of November is the truffle festival. The area is very well known for its prestigious white truffle. There is the truffle museum in the town and at this time of year the truffle hunters are out with their dogs to find these precious nuggets.

San Giovanni is a little over half an hours drive to Siena, 15 minutes from Montalcino, 35 minutes to Montepulciano, with Pienza just over 20 minutes away, and well known for it’s famous Pecorino cheese. The village of Torrenieri is at 5 minutes for all the essentials, that is shops, pharmacy and supermarket. The delightful village of Montisi is just 5 minutes away. With it’s winding streets, beautifully decorated with flowers. It has shops, well-known restaurants and lots of activities to enjoy. With painting courses, hot air ballooning, cookery classes, horse back riding and trekking, and of course visits to wineries and cheese farms.

Landlord

The owners of the farm do not live on site, but some of the host family members are there daily to oversee things. Our Tuscany UnTour staff person is always available by cell phone if guests have problems or concerns.
