Stay in Florence
This is a lovely and well appointed vacation rental apartment in the charming residential neighborhood of Oltrarno, a short walk from the Pitti Palace and 15-minute walk to the historic core of Florence and sights like the Ponte Vecchio. On a quiet street, the apartment offers good access to neighborhood shops, green grocers and wine merchants.
The main living area combines living room, kitchen and dining area in a nicely decorated space. Glass doors lead out to a tiny patio that is tucked into a small courtyard, with the rise of the building on all sides; no view but a nice spot for fresh air or dining al fresco. The bedroom also offers access to the patio and includes an Italian queen bed and good storage. The bathroom is accessed from the bedroom; it includes a stall shower and washing machine.

Oltrarno, Italy - Florence, Home of Campuccio
Across the Arno River from the tourist crunch, this central neighborhood hosts some of the city’s favorite restaurants, cafes and wine bars, plus a wide selection of local small merchants, including cheese shops, green grocers, pastamats and corner stores. Campo Santo Spirito is ringed with great cafes and restaurants and hosts a daytime market. The Palazzo Pitti offers one of the city’s finest art collections and the Boboli Gardens offer natural beauty and sweeping views of the city. Served by buses and a short (15-20 minute) walk from the historic core, this is a nice spot for those seeking a true neighborhood experience, allowing for easy access to sites but not in the full throngs of the tourist crowds.

We loved the location, the comfort, the décor of the apt.. We were glad to be in the Oltrarno section, as we saw the citizens in their daily comings and goings, used the small groceries and bakeries, and went to the Santo Spirito square for the market and restaurants.

The apartment was wonderful! Maria, the owner of Campucco apt., has appointed everything with quality furnishings, bedding and kitchen appliances. The renovation of this historic building was first class. The location was perfect. Close to Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens. Many amenities nearby and easy to walk across the river. Great gelato close by.

Great apartment--furnished nicely, it has a great feel. Our only complaint was the noise from other apartments above us made it unlikely that we would use the very small patio area outside.Indeed we had to shut the windows to keep out the noise....however the apartment was cool and pleasant and we really enjoyed it otherwise.

Oltrarno is a mix of foreign students, Italian families, small shops, historic churches and a large dollop of Greenwich Village and Soho thrown in. Excellent restaurants and bakeries. Great open air market at Santa Spirito on Sunday.

A lovely apartment (actually an Ikea apartment), in a wonderful neighborhood that was very convenient to shopping and to all the sights that Florence has to offer. The apartment was well equipped (it even had a dishwasher and clothes washer) .
