Ada Teresa

Lovely, well-decorated 2-bedroom on a vineyard farm

Stay in Tuscany

Located on one of our favorite vacation rental properties in Tuscany, the Ada Teresa is a lovely, spacious farmhouse apartment. It stands in its own building, formerly the farm caretaker’s house. Guests enter into a large entry/dining room with a fireplace and well-furnished, attractively tiled kitchen. A separate parlor is filled with comfortable furniture and provides a cozy place to relax. The 2 double bedrooms are attractively decorated with Tuscan flair and pretty, handmade details. The apartment has 2 large, brightly tiled bathrooms. One is very large.

The apartment is located in a vineyard near Montalcino, an easy drive to Siena, the Chianti Valley and many pretty Tuscan hill towns beyond. There are lovely views from the farm grounds. Your host, Anna, is a retired teacher who speaks good English. She and her family are very friendly. Wine is available for guest purchase, including the family’s own Brunello. The property is a perennial favorite. Other vacation rental apartments on the farm include the Coppia, the Famiglia and the Pergola.

Montalcino, Italy - Tuscany, Home of Ada Teresa

Montalcino is a beautiful hill town, sporadically populated in Etruscan times and permanently settled around 1000 AD. The town was important in medieval times and its thirteenth-century walls are still largely intact. Today Montalcino is known for the Brunello wine made in its surrounding farmlands. Its center is pedestrian-friendly and walkable. Its narrow streets are lined with shops, good restaurants, lively cafés and wine bars. It hosts an open-air market on Fridays and offers a museum of sacred art. Visitors to the town’s fourteenth-century fortress can climb its tower for a spectacular view of the countryside or sample local wines in its basement cantina. The town offers banks, ATMs, coffee bars, a grocery store and a good bakery.

Staying in the countryside outside Montalcino puts you in the heart of the Tuscan wine belt, in the shadow of countless wineries and an easy drive to Chianti country. Traditional farm life continues in Montalcino and the many beautiful hill towns that surround it. Here, artisans sell pottery, small restaurants create traditional Tuscan meals, and old parish churches hide stunning frescoes.

Montalcino is about 40 minutes south of Siena and an 90 minutes south of Florence. Other day trips from UnTours’ Tuscany vacation rental apartments include the historic hill towns of San Gimignano, Pienza, Montepulciano, and San Galgano; the Etruscan sites of Volterra, Chiusi, and Cortona; the natural beauty of Mt. Amiata and the coast; and the monasteries of Monte Oliveto and Sant’Antimo.

Landlord

The apartments on this farm are among our most popular, due largely to the owners. Anna is one of our most beloved landladies. She and her husband, Lodovico, recently moved from their Siena home to the farm. Anna is a retired teacher who speaks English and is incredibly warm and friendly. She and Lodovico treat their guests like members of the family, offering warm hospitality without being intrusive. Our Tuscany UnTour staff person is always available by cell phone if guests have problems or concerns.

Absolutely, unequivocally, loved it. Without exception. Not a negative thing to say about the Ada Teresa apartment or Anna, our most wonderful host.

Mary Ellen Natale

★★★★★

We enjoyed our Brunello on a beautiful patio, and in a stone guest house on the property overlooking the very green hills. No TV, which was a positive--a complete getaway! And the Brunello is fantastic.

We loved the place where we stayed. It was comfortable and homey and our hosts were wonderful. Both bathrooms were very nice. It was roomy and looked just like a home in Tuscany should.

Frank & Francesca D'Angelo

★★★★★

This apartment was perfect for us, homey, spacious, comfortable and a great functional kitchen for cooking and dining. Every night we relaxed with a great meal and soaked up the views of the countryside. The reading room was perfect for those who stayed up late and just read with great glass of Brunello. If I could bring home a piece of Tuscany, it would be our landlady's warm and endearing smile and most importantly her zest for living.

Mike and Nancy Hallada

★★★★★

The Ada Teresa was charming. We felt at home immediately. Anna and Lodovico were delightful hosts.

Joe Brazil

★★★★★

Great apartment and wonderful people - central location.

Connie & Mel Reifschneider

★★★★★

We feel as if Anna's family are our family! We felt as if we had been long-lost friends who finally found our way home. In the evenings we would sit on our little patio where we enjoyed many bottles of wine and watch the kazillion firelies swarming around the shrubbery. They actually reminded us of little twinlking Christmas lights.
