Shaina

A passionate local from Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, Shaina joined the UnTours family in 2024, bringing her enthusiasm for travel and outdoor activities to every guest experience. She takes particular joy in "showing our UnTourists my city so they see it through the eyes of a local and sharing stories with them."

For Shaina, the highlight of her destination is the "stunning nature with amazing beaches and palm mountains" that characterize the Dominican landscape. She loves revealing hidden gems that most tourists miss, such as "a secret beach between playa Ballenas and playa Bonita that you access through a small hike with stunning views." When asked about noteworthy annual events, she enthusiastically recommends the "Cabarete Jazz Festival" celebrated in November at Cabarete, located on the North Shore of the island, about four hours by car from Santo Domingo.

Her wish for visitors? That more people would discover that "sunsets in Las Terrenas are stunning and worth it to look for a good spot to enjoy it with a Presidente"—referring to the popular local beer that perfectly complements the breathtaking coastal views.
