The Bruc Balcon apartment is a bright, beautiful apartment, well placed in one of the most interesting parts of the desirable Eixample district, with its early nineteenth century architecture and a wide range of shops, restaurants and cafes.
Tall glass doors to the apartment’s two balconies bring a lot of natural light into the apartment’s attractive living area. In this airy room you will find two large couches, one a sofa bed. This room includes a dining area that seats six. There are two bedrooms, both with double beds and separate access to a shared interior-facing terrace with two small sets of tables and chairs. The master bedroom, with a slightly larger double bed at 160cm, has an en suite bathroom with a bathtub. The other bathroom, located off the hall, has a shower stall. The American-style kitchen, separated from the main living area, has all of the modern amenities including an oven, 4-burner stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, fridge, kettle and plenty of counterspace.
The apartment is located a very short walk from two metro stops, putting all of Barcelona within easy reach. A five-minute stroll will take you to the upscale Passeig de Gràcia, considered to be the most expensive street in Barcelona and even Spain.

L'Eixample, Spain - Barcelona, Home of Bruc Balcon
Known as Barcelona's "new town," the Eixample (literally "expansion" in Catalan) neighborhood was built in the late 19th Century after the demolition of Barcelona's old city walls. The area, famous for its wide boulevards and egalitarian design, was borne of the idealism of Catalan engineer Ildefons Cerdà, who imagined a city where green space, mobility and natural lighting combated the ills of congestion and led to a more democratic city environment.
Today, L'Eixample remains an important example of urban planning, but has attracted tourists because of the many modernist buildings which grace its streets. Home to the Quadrat d'Or (Golden Triangle), La Pedrera, the Manzana de la Discordia and Sagrada Familia among many other famous modernist buildings, the neighborhood's main boulevard, the Passeig de Gràcia, is also the top shopping destination in the city. Unlike the old city below it, L'Eixample is surprisingly free of tourists and makes an ideal home base for Untourists who can explore El Barri Gotic, El Raval, La Ribeira and the bohemian Gracia by foot from their neighborhood. L'Eixample also has excellent cafes and restaurants lining its streets.
Customer comments about Bruc Balcon, L'Eixample, Spain - Barcelona
Bruc Balcon was very well situated. The neighborhood had many amenities--restaurants, bakeries, markets, pharmacies, metro stations, banks, etc. The apartment itself, while modern, had many old fashioned touches in the shutters, terrace, balconies, and high ceilings. There was some water damage under a window, but it was generally clean and comfortable. In the front of the apartment the street noise was typical of city living, but the bedrooms in the rear were quiet. The foyer had an unusual odor that turned out to be the cleaning solution used on the marble floors.(HARMAN, 9/19)
I would have rated the trip 5 stars, except I lost my wallet to a pickp[ocket, which of course was not the fault of Untours
