Taylor Lindsay-Noel turned a life-altering spinal cord injury into an opportunity to advocate for inclusivity and accessibility. Through her social channels, she shares honest reviews of restaurants and travel destinations, highlighting their accessibility features and inspiring others to embrace a world that welcomes everyone. As one of UnTours’ newest UnFluencers, Taylor joins a group of travel ambassadors dedicated to exploring beloved destinations while championing thoughtful, inclusive, and sustainable travel. We sat down with Taylor to learn more about her mission and why being an UnFluencer resonates so deeply with her values.

What is your personal concept of the kind of Slow Travel that makes a positive contribution to the world?

Slow travel is all about taking the space and time to properly connect with people, cultures, and the heart of a destination. It’s about supporting local economies, patrons, and respecting their environment and ecosystem.

How do you see UnFluencer content (written, images, videos) differing from what you see from most travel content creators?

An UnFluencer doesn’t focus on overly complicating the user experience. A lot of social media is extremely curated, but I feel as though they balance authenticity and engagement while focusing on their main objectives in their content.

As someone who shares accessible travel experiences, I see UnFluencer content as a way to highlight underrepresented perspectives and inspire people to travel in a more thoughtful and inclusive way. It’s about telling meaningful stories that resonate, rather than just showing off picture-perfect destinations.

How can UnFluencers be a part of destination management that preserves nature and culture?

UnFluencers can use their platform to highlight destinations that are lesser known, highlighting accessibility throughout its content to show just how inclusive they are in their forethought, and by focusing on the experiences a true local of a destination would tell their closest friend. Those experiences are the ones that are the most authentic to the destination and make for the more cultured trip.
