What is your personal concept of the kind of slow travel that makes a positive contribution to the world?
Slow travel, to me, is about truly connecting with a place—walking its streets, meeting its people, and soaking up its everyday rhythm. It’s taking time to understand the local culture, supporting small businesses, and traveling with respect for the environment. Slow travel is about being present, appreciating each moment, and making a positive impact on the community by choosing experiences that honor the local way of life. It’s also about encouraging others to travel thoughtfully, helping them see the value in depth over speed, and connecting with people and places on a real level.
How do you see UnFluencer content (written, images, videos) differing from what you see from most travel content creators?
I think the content is different by focusing more on meaningful, immersive moments rather than quick highlights or trendy spots. It’s less about rushing to “must-see” lists and more about showcasing genuine connections with local culture, slower-paced explorations, and the hidden gems that make a place special. Instead of glossy, perfectly posed photos, the content would feel authentic, showing real experiences that inspire others to travel mindfully and savor the journey.
How can UnFluencers be a part of destination management that preserves nature and culture?
By sharing respectful ways to engage with local communities and encouraging low-impact activities, they can guide travelers toward sustainable choices.
