Now that we’re firmly in 2014, I wanted to take a quick moment to share my top 5 travel-related videos of 2013. I actually meant to post this before New Year’s but time got the best of me and I’m just getting around to it now. I hope you still enjoy it nonetheless!
- The WestJet Miracle (Winner in the Heartwarming Surprise category)
In the Heartwarming Surprise category, the winner is the WestJet Miracle. WARNING: This is hard to watch this without tearing up. It really warms my heart (hence the category title) to see something like this happen today. I mean, imagine how it feels to have your Christmas wishes come true, and by Santa, no less! Now, I know It’s easy to dismiss it as just a marketing ploy but there are much easier and less personal ways to spend your marketing buck. This is just a brilliant example of delighting your customers. To them, it must have seemed like a miracle, indeed.
- Cell Phone Crashing (Winner in the Hilariously Relatable category)
In the Hilariously Relatable category, we have Cell Phone Crashing. If you’re flying anywhere this holiday season (this probably works at a train station, too), watch this video. It’s a simple premise: a guy named Greg sits next to people who are on their cell phones in the airport and pretends to be talking to on his cell phone…the catch is that the way he “pretends” is by crashing their phone calls. Go ahead and watch it. It’s easier than me explaining it.
- Peru & Bolivia Stop-Motion (Winner in the Amazing Commitment category)
In the Amazing Commitment category, we have this lovely stop-motion film of a couple’s journey through Bolivia and Peru. I can’t imagine how long it took to make this, much less edit it together and any more words would just ruin hit. Just click it and smile.
