This lovely vacation rental apartment is in a beautiful red brick Georgian house overlooking Sloane Gardens. Modern paintings and design objects mix with antiques to create an elegant yet homely atmosphere. Its large, elegant entry room is bright and airy, with tall windows opening onto a small balcony that overlooks the gardens. The room has an ornamental fireplace, a sofa which converts into a comfortable double bed, and two classic chrome and leather chairs on either side of a low coffee table. The space also has a cozy reading corner and a dining area with seating for six.
The modern kitchen is done in stainless steel and is well appointed, including a dishwasher and washer (no dryer).
The bedroom has a queen bed and overlooks a pleasant rear garden. The bathroom is accessed through the bedroom, up a short flight of stairs. These steps are quite steep and may be difficult for those with mobility issues.
The apartment's location, just off Sloane Square, puts you on the border of Chelsea, Knightsbridge, and Belgravia. You are two minutes from Kings Road with its numerous stylish and bohemian shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants. Ranelagh Gardens and the grounds of The Royal Hospital (where the Chelsea Flower Show is held) are within a 5 minute stroll. Nearby Pimlico Road is lined with fine antique shops.

Sloane Square, UK - London, Home of Sloane 1
Sloane Square is actually at the border of Chelsea, Knightsbridge, and Belgravia. The nearby Kings Road is known for its fashion boutiques and trendy restaurants and bars. Sloane Street is one of London’s most fashionable shopping streets. The neighborhood offers more than consumer delights, though. The Saatchi Gallery, at Sloane Square, is a world renowned center of contemporary art. Cadogan Hall is a venue for performances by some of the best classical and jazz artists and ensembles. Hyde Park is a ten minute walk away. The Ranelagh Gardens, home of the Chelsea Flower Show, are also about ten minutes away by foot. Within an easy 30 minutes walk are Buckingham Palace in one direction and the “Albertopolis” in the other with its numerous museums and the Royal Albert Hall. Public transportation access is excellent from Sloane Square with easy bus and tube access to other sections of Central London. There is no shortage of shops, cafes, restaurants, and pubs in the neighborhood.

We enjoyed the apartment. It has everything we needed. The only shortcoming was the water pressure. Big enough for two and we enjoyed the garden access.

Located in a great area near tube. Steep staircase to bathroom was difficult and annoying to navigate. Needed microwave. No one cooks on vacation. The mattress on bed was way too soft. Sank when lying on it. [Note from UnTours: Landlord has replaced mattress as of September 2019]

Location was perfect, near bus and subway transportation, lots of restaurants, nice neighborhood. The apartment was OK, but could have been better with just a few improvements like a top sheet for bed, and above all, less clutter in a very tiny kitchen where short term renters need only basic things. The bathroom was up the stairway from the bedroom...we longed for a nightlight in the bathroom so that when we visited it in the middle of the night, we would not be confronted by bright lights that also lit up the bedroom right below. [Note from UnTours: Top sheets are uncommon in the UK and most of Northern Europe where sleeping under a covered duvet is the norm.]
