Francoise

Paris UnGuide - France

Born in Northern France, Françoise's journey of cultural exploration began early with a year as a Foreign Exchange Student in the U.S., followed by ten transformative years living in Brazil where she embraced the country's joyful spirit. "The north of France is known for its warmth and friendliness—maybe that's where my love for sharing and hosting comes from!" she reflects. "Brazil deeply shaped my sense of joy, rhythm, and connection before I eventually settled in Paris, a city I now know inside and out!"

With over 30 years in the travel industry, primarily with international airlines, Françoise brings a wealth of experience in coordinating trips and supporting travelers. Since joining UnTours in 2017, she's found her true calling: "I enjoy welcoming guests to Paris through UnTours, where I offer on-the-ground support and help visitors experience the city through local's eyes. I love creating meaningful encounters and helping people feel both supported and inspired as they explore."

Françoise describes herself as "someone who truly enjoys taking care of others, making them feel welcome and comfortable—always with a personal and kind touch." This philosophy infuses her approach to guiding: "With UnTours, every experience is unique & personal. We do more than guide, we welcome to make sure you feel at home in Paris, from your first Bonjour to your last Au revoir."

Among her favorite experiences to share with guests is the Soufflé cooking class at Le Récamier. "It's not only about the food—though it's delicious—it's about the shared experience. Guests connect, learn something new, and leave with a little piece of French savoir-faire. It's always a highlight." For hidden gems, she loves directing visitors to "lesser-known markets or quiet neighborhoods like the Butte aux Cailles—places full of charm that most tourists miss." She also recommends the Nuit Blanche (White Night) in October, "an all-night contemporary art festival that transforms the city in surprising and creative ways."

Her advice for visitors is simple yet profound: "A warm 'Bonjour' when entering a shop or greeting someone goes a long way—it sets the tone for respectful and pleasant exchanges." What she wishes more people knew about her beloved city? "That beyond its iconic monuments, Paris is made of little daily joys—local cafés, unexpected art exhibits, quiet courtyards, parks, churches, and small gestures. Slowing down is the best way to really fall in love with the city."

When not guiding UnTourists, Françoise enjoys exhibitions, movies, theater performances, and good conversations with friends. She also attends geopolitics classes and makes time for regular Pilates workouts, noting that "balance is key!"
