Ulysse

Originally from France and now proudly based in the Dominican Republic for over a decade, Ulysse brings a rare blend of international experience, local expertise, and natural charisma to his role as an UnGuide. His journey has taken him across four continents—living and working in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and the Caribbean—before he chose the Samaná Peninsula as his home.

With a background in tourism spanning more than 10 years, including work on cruise ships and as a destination manager in international resorts, Ulysse knows hospitality from the inside out. Fluent in several languages, he connects easily with travelers from all over the world and has a natural talent for making people feel comfortable, understood, and well taken care of.

Ulysse describes himself as “curious by nature, social by heart, and passionate about good living.” He loves sharing the Dominican Republic beyond clichés—introducing visitors to hidden beaches, local flavors, outdoor adventures, and the relaxed Caribbean lifestyle that made him stay for good. Whether it’s a spontaneous beach barbecue, a scenic hike, a waterfall escape, or simply the best spot for a sunset cocktail, he enjoys helping travelers experience the country like locals, not tourists.

When he’s not guiding, Ulysse stays active with fitness and outdoor sports, and is always planning his next adventure.
