Lori Sorrentino
I'm Lori, an award-winning photographer and travel writer with a passion for slow food and slow travel. Since 2014, my slow travel blog Travlinmad has reflected my mission to βEat Local, Travel Slowβ.
For me, slow travel is about making a positive, sustainable impact on local communities while creating meaningful connections with the people and place. It's an intentional mindset to traveling β rather than just ticking off a bucket list item you immerse yourself in one place for a while, tread lightly on the environment, and connect with locals through their food and traditions. This approach to traveling results in a richer experience for everyone, not to mention travel images and memories that capture the underlying beauty of the places we visit. And while I generally seek out places off the tourist path, I also love sharing how you can slow travel even in the worldβs most crowded places.
Before becoming a travel writer and UnTours Unfluencer, my career in tourism marketing and economic development gave me unique insight into the tremendous impact tourism has on local communities, and I call on this experience regularly. My photography and writing has been published in outlets like The Washington Post, Tages-Anzeiger, Southern Living, The Huffington Post, and more.
