ALESSANDRA, TREVI, ITALY - UMBRIA
The Alessandra is a lovely farmhouse vacation rental on a beautiful family farm. It is one of our most popular apartments. Set in its own building, it features a private patio. The combination living room/dining room is attractive, with a fireplace and a window offering a lovely view of the valley below. The nicely furnished kitchen is separate. Each of its bedrooms (1 with an Italian queen size bed and 1 with two seperate twin beds) includes its own bath.
This vacation rental is located on a farm owned and run by the Zappelli family. Wanda and her daughters speak some English and are warm and friendly hosts. The grounds are lovely, filled with flowers and herbs in season. Original cobblestone walkways cut through the property and are uneven in spots. The farm has harvested olives for generations. A swimming pool is on the property, tucked in among the olive trees. Trevi is 10 minutes away, Spoleto is a 30-minute drive, and Assisi and other hill towns are easy day trips. Trevi, Italy - Umbria, Home of Alessandra
Our Trevi-area apartments are located in the countryside, outside of town, a 5-minute drive away. Trevi is a beautiful, sleepy little town with a hometown feel. Ringed with olive groves, Trevi rises above the convenient Via Flamminia, just 30 minutes north of Spoleto and 30 minutes south of Assisi. In town, you can visit a modest painting gallery and the Church of St. Francis. The small Flash Museum hosts cutting edge, international art exhibits – an unlikely bit of avant-garde in a quiet Umbrian hill town. The town is lovely, with a lively piazza and numerous small produce and grocery shops, cafés, barbershops and a small selection of good restaurants and coffee bars.
Nearby Spoleto is a beautiful town that dates back to Roman times. Sites there include an ancient Roman theater, the Duomo, the castle and museums of archeology, sacred art and modern art. Because of its annual performing arts festival, it has a cosmopolitan feel, with good shopping and a nice selection of restaurants.
Umbria is often called Italy’s “Green Heart,” making the beautiful area around Spoleto the perfect base for a 2-week stay. The rugged Umbrian hills give way to sweeping views of olive groves. And the small towns carry on, unchanged by time, and largely undiscovered by American tourists.
The Trevi-area apartments are about 5 minutes south of town and about a 25-minute drive north of Spoleto. Assisi is about a 25-minute drive and Perugia is about 45 minutes away. By express train, Rome is about 90 minutes away.
Customer comments about Alessandra, Trevi, Italy - Umbria
"Wonderful accommodations for two couples. The two bedroom, two bath combination provided both the
privacy and convenience we needed. Also enjoyed the outside patio for drinks and snacks as well as the
upper patio for magnificent views. The kitchen was adequate for cooking light meals after a full day of
sightseeing (and a big lunch)." Howard Greisdorf
"Great location, wonderful host and host family. Clean and charming locale" David Monaco
"The swimming pool and view were outstanding. The location was excellent with easy access to the attractions of Umbria. Wanda and her daughters, Alessandra, Maria and Sarah were wonderful and gracious hosts." Alan Toepfer
"Instead of an "apartment" I felt we were being allowed to live in our very own "out of the past" slightly rustic farmhouse. It oozed charm." Cordelia Meith
"We had an excellent experience staying at Alessandra. Sara Zappelli was so welcoming and we were so fortunate to see the olive processing in action. Staying on an olive farm was delightful. My only suggestion would be to add some comfortable furniture." M. Egelhoff

"The apartment cottages were lovely, offered all the privacy one might wish, and, in addition, were fully supplied with whatever one might need. We were totally delighted by the fresh produce provided in the welcome supplies from Mama Wanda's garden. The apartment itself was perfect, clean and comfortavle. It felt like home almost immediately." Barbara Bynum
