1. Tell us a little bit about your most recent Untour and why you chose to go there.
Our family, my husband and I and our four girls, have travelled with UnTours to three wonderful locations—over the past 10 years—Switzerland, Italy and Greece.
We chose Switzerland because it was so well suited for families with young children. We stayed in a wonderful apartment overlooking a beautiful lake and the Swiss Mountains. Each morning we walked to their prompt and super clean rail system and spent the day in towns across Switzerland. We ended our trip with a few days in Paris. When the children were three years older, we travelled with UnTours to Tuscany and we took a side trip to Rome. Once again a dream trip, beautiful scenery, lots to do and learn every day!
Three years later, we travelled wtih UnTours to Greece and stayed for several weeks in Napflio. Once again, the scenery was amazing. The small town was the perfect home base for us to explore Greece and many of the small islands. And, our Untour Guide in Greece was very helpful when it came time to get a rental car suited for 6 people (not an easy task in this area).
2. What is your favorite UnTours memory?
We have so many good memories, it is hard to choose just one. Our Untour vacations were the best money we have ever spent as the vacations provided an opportunity for longer stretches of family bonding (without modern day distractions taking our time and attention) and lots of time to build shared memories. Hiking with the children thru the Swiss Mountains was unforgettable.
3. How is taking an Untour different from other ways of travelling?
We enjoy the freedom of traveling as a family (without a specified agenda, tour bus, etc) but we enjoy the comfort of knowing that there is someone at our destination that we can go to in case we have questions or encounter problems. The UnTours staff does a wonderful job of giving you the information you need to take advantage of all of the opportunities each country offers its visitors while giving you the freedom to explore on your own terms.
