Stay in Scottish Highlands
The Crown View cottage is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is a stylish and comfortable accommodation with a gracious host family next door. The Crown neighborhood of Inverness sits above the central part of town, and the Crown View cottage is perched on a small rise above the rest of the neighborhood.
The stand-alone cottage consists of an open-plan kitchen/living room. There’s no traditional eating table, but there’s an attractive bar with stools next to the very modern and well-equipped kitchen with Nespresso machine, microwave, and dishwasher. The lovely bedroom has a king bed, a TV, and an en suite bathroom with shower. There is a washer and a dryer in the utility room. The apartment stays warm with in-floor heating.
Outside, there’s a spacious patio area with a picnic table and a comfortable sitting area. Parking is along the street with an included permit. The center of Inverness with its pubs, restaurants, and shops can be reached in about 10 minutes by foot. It’s a downhill walk into town. There are also some shops and restaurants in the Crown neighborhood.

Inverness, UK - Scottish Highlands, Home of Crown View
Inverness is known as the Highland Capital. With its 47,000 inhabitants, it’s the northernmost city in the UK and an ideal launching point for touring the Northern and Central Highlands. Fortunately, it is also a pleasant city to wander and explore. Bisected by the River Ness flowing from Loch Ness to the south, the city’s numerous church spires dot the riverbank. The city’s center has many shops, restaurants, and pubs along with a Victorian era and a modern shopping mall, either of which prove useful in the event of an unexpected shower. Local residents enjoy the Ness Islands as a tranquil park in the midst of the bustling town.
Traditional music lovers will appreciate the scene in Inverness that includes nightly sessions at the central Hootananny pub. History buffs will enjoy a reflective walk at the Culloden battlefield where one of Scotland’s most important and tragic conflicts took place. The Inverness Museum and Art Gallery will bring anyone up to speed on the region’s natural history along with showcasing the rich cultural background of the Highlands.
Inverness has train connections to the Thurso and Wick in the North; Kyle of Localsh in the West; Aberdeen to the East; and Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh, London to the South. Inverness has public buses in many directions. Private tour buses leave from central Inverness for the Isle of Skye, the Whisky Trail, Loch Ness, and other destinations.

Reviews
Here's what our guests have to say
Wendy Maynard
The cottage and its location were perfect...easy walk to center of town, buses and train.
James and Diane Wardrop
This could not have been better. Stand-alone cottage about 30 yards from the owners' home. It had all the amenities one could have hoped for, including a patio and a view of the Ness River. It was conveniently located for walking to restaurants and shops, as well as the bus depot.
Marjie and William Klingeman
The apartment was a dream to come home to after tramping around everywhere. Often there were rain showers and high winds due to a Hurricane, yes Hurricane Hector chose to go across Scotland during our week! The owner had put in all the amenities from full kitchen and foodstuffs, to great towels and bed linens. Also there were many nice restaurants close by the cottage.
William Taken
Great place, great location and hosts.
