Finnegan's Ode

Charming cottage near Kenmare town

Stay in County Kerry

Finnegan's Ode cottage is beautifully situated in a residential area on the edge of Kenmare. It is removed from the bustle of the main street, yet Kenmare's restaurants, shops, and pubs are a couple minutes away by foot.

The cottage itself is beautifully decorated with high-beamed ceiling, slate floors and wood fixtures. It feels like an Irish retreat, with the perfect balance of old tradition and modern comforts. There is a cozy living/dining area with plush leather couches, a flat screen TV (local and international channels), a DVD player with a set of DVDs and an gas stove. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, 4-burner gas stove, microwave and dishwasher. During the warmer months, one can enjoy a nice meal or simply relax with a book outside on the patio, which has additional seating.

The house has its own yard, and there is a farm field beyond the kitchen window where you may glimpse a cow. An ancient stone circle is a couple minutes away by foot, and the main road to the Ring of Kerry is just around the bend.

The cottage was clean, nicely furnished and felt like home. The location was superb—quiet but conveniently located to town for easy walking. It was very private, yet felt like part of the community.

★★★★★

We enjoyed the homey feeling of the cottage. The hosts were very helpful and our kitchen was well stocked with food. It was the best location to the town, as we would walk a very short distance to stores, pubs, and the ice cream parlor every day. We were very glad we chose this cottage.

Finnegan"s Ode is the best UnTour lodging that we have stayed in. This was our sixth UnTour. The cottage is COMPLETELY equipped, nothing is lacking. It was very clean, nicely appointed, conviently located, and very quiet. We could ask for nothing more! Aoife was very welcoming and extremely helpful, the perfect hostess!

★★★★★

It was lovely. We appreciated the fireplace, which kept us cozy during the chilly weather and the warm electric blanket on top of the mattress. The location was super handy and the kitchen well stocked. We missed having wifi in the cottage, but instead went every morning to Mike and Jimmy's for breakfast and linked into the wifi service there.
