Wüthrich Large
Authentic Swiss chalet with 4 bedrooms and stunning views in ReutiStay in Swiss Heartland
The Wüthrich chalet in the Alpine village of Hasliberg-Reuti is a beautiful example of the large wooden farm houses found in this part of the Bernese Oberland. The spacious Wüthrich Large apartment is well equipped, nicely furnished, and features a beautiful light wood interior and sensational western facing views of the great Alps of the region. The large living/dining room with a comfortable new corner couch, two double bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom (with tub/shower), and separate toilet are on the chalet’s second floor. There are two double bedrooms on the third floor. (All bedrooms have twin beds.)
The chalet is also the residence of the friendly Wuthrich family. A private entrance with a few steps leads up to the apartment. The Wuthrich Small apartment, which is managed by the family matriarch, is in the same chalet. Both apartments combined can accommodate a group of 14 guests.
The chalet is just a few minutes uphill walk from transportation and the village center with a small grocery store and wonderful restaurant. An aerial gondola brings you to the transportation hub of Meiringen in the valley in just 7 minutes and is free with the local guest card. And hourly bus service to the Brünig train station is included in the Swiss Pass.

Reuti, Switzerland - Heartland, Home of Wüthrich Large
The Hasliberg, a mountain, is also the name of a community made up of 4 villages: Hohfluh, Wasserwendi, Goldern and Reuti. They share one local government, one mayor, one tourist office, one community center and one bank. It is not clear exactly when the mountain was first settled, but the area developed a unique culture and personality over many centuries. In some ways, the inhabitants lived in splendid isolation, which perhaps explains why these 4 small villages appear to be right out of “Heidi.” A casual stroll through any one reveals beautiful old chalets, immaculate gardens and gentle hints of a way of life from long ago.
The Hasliberg is best described as a hiker’s paradise, with the greatest variety and concentration of outstanding walks and hikes in the Heartland. There is a wonderful walk for families with children created around the stories of “Muggestutz,” a Hasliberg dwarf. Each of the villages has at least one or two good restaurants and small grocery stores supplying basic needs, and Hofhluh also features a fine little bakery.
The post bus connects the 4 villages with the Brunig train station, which offers hourly service to the famed Bernese Oberland resort of Interlaken (45 minutes west) and the city of Luzern (75 minutes north.) An aerial tramway connects Reuti with Meiringen down in the valley every 30 minutes. Cable cars also connect Reuti to higher locations on the Hasliberg (gondolas to Kaserstatt, Bidmi, Magisalp and Planplatten).

Here's what our guests have to say

I don't want to tell everyone how great it is because we hope to go back frequently and always want to stay in the same unit.
Lois Russell
The space and facilities were just perfect for our family vacation. There were enough beds/bedrooms for everyone, a large living room for us to gather in and adequate cooking facilities also.
Steve Walker
It was fantastic. The view, location, and spaciousness made the trip even better. I would have liked to have gotten to know our hosts but that didn't defer from our trip.
Jim & Lois Russell
It was a wonderful apt. for our large family group-- had a large living room where we could all congregate.
Ann Gentile
I will never forget the spectacular view of the Swiss Alps from our chalet windows and hearing the alphorn played on the roof of another chalet on a Sat. night.
Susan Wankner
I feel very at home in Reuti & with the Wüthrich family (we've stayed with them twice and have been to Reuti 4 times). The apartment had a beautiful view. The only word of caution- one needs to be careful on the stairs, as they're narrow and steep (those to the 2 upstairs bedrooms) especially at night.
Doug & Shirley Gilbaugh
The apt. was great. The view was wonderful from both the 4 windows in the living and the 2 in the bedroom.
F & R Addor
The apt. was neat, clean, well appointed, very comfortable with a wonderful view!
Carroll & Judy Price
We love the Reuti setting and feel it was the most beautiful spot we have seen in Switzerland!
Kep Sones
My 3rd time with the Wüthrichs; I love them- couldn't be better or more friendly, almost like family. I love everything about Reuti and the Wüthrichs except the growing tourist popularity- I'm selfish and want to keep it for myself.
Helen & Malini Schuyten
Spacious, fantastic view, good ventilation, quiet, convenient to transportation. Could have stayed forever!
Doug Caldwell
It was GREAT, beautiful views, close to the bus stop, really neat furnishings. The landlord was pleasant to work with.
